I have installed Maximizer 9.0 and applied the patch, I cannot gain access to any of the pre-loaded address books, and even when i make my own, I cannot get access to it afterwards. I get no prompt at anytime for a username or password. I login to the administrator function and nor does it ask me there for a password and username. So now the program just sits there dead and I am losing time and money by the day trying to figure this out. A few people have looked at it and they can't seem to figure it out either. Can someone please help me with this?

Teresa, when you click File>>Open Address book, highlight one of them and click ok what does the blue strip at the top of the screen read?

For example mine reads Maximizer Enterprise [CABC] - [Address Book]

If you open the Escona address book the bar should read something like Maximizer [Escona Tutorial].

If it does then the address book is open and you've just not searched for anything. Maximizer is a database application and by default it displays no records, to get something on screen you have to use the search function to first retrieve the records you'd like to be looking at.
Thanks a lot for your promptly reply, what happens to me is, I clicked the file>>Open Address Book, an "Open Address Book" dialog shows up, I highed lighlight either of them (no matter it's "Escona Tutorial", "financial", "General" or even an address book I created from "New Address book") and clicked "open", my computer has a "bip" should and that's all, the "OPen Address Book" thing still there and I just can't get into the program! I have to click "Cancel" to get into the program but there's nothing I can do as I cannot open any of the address book even the one I create. I have been trying install and uninstall the software several times as I suspect it's something wrong with the installation, but no luck... it's frustrating.
Have you made sure the Pervasive Database Engine is running? There should be an icon down by your system clock that looks like a small computer with a green dot on it. If that is not there then click Start>>Programs and look for the Pervasive folder, in there you will eventually find a icon for starting the Pervasive Database Engine (usually in an Engines sub folder under the Pervasive program group).

Make sure this engine is running before you attempt to open an address book.
Thank you for the reply. I somehow managed to get it works by modify the instalation (Control Panel>>Add or Remove Programs..>>Maximizer, then choose "modify" rather than "remove"), after that, I can log in to the sample address book. It's odd, I have been installed and uninstall the program at least 5 times since last Friday I got the program but never can get into the sample address book. I guess maybe it's some sort of software conflict cause this. I am using office 2007.
Thank you again for your help!
