I am running Maximizer 7.0, Series 1312 with SP 3 and Pervasive 7.902.30.036 and our database is 15 GB.

What I would like to do is archive the Notes/Documents from a specific date range but have the ability to access this info at any time. Maybe have a 2nd database that I could merge this data into at monthly intervals.

Is this at all possible in Maximizer?

Why not just create a second "Archive" database, then each month delete all the data files from that folder and copy the data files from your "Live" database into the "Archive" folder? Of course, you still have to delete the data you don't want from the "Live" database.

Not technically elegant but it does the job and has the advantage of copying current security setups too - may not be an issue unless you have frequent changes to security settings.

I guess an alternative would be to use the "Transfer" capability of Max vs. O/S level file copy, but the O/S level file copy can be automated.

That would work the first time, but then after deleting the documents from the "live" database if you copy those data files to the "archive" folder you would lose the documents you archived originally. I don't think that's what the original poster wants.

I would suggest experimenting with the

File > Transfer > Address Book Entries...

feature as a way of inserting the information into your archive database.
