hi guys

i need some help desperately, in our company we have been using Max 10 enterprenuer edition setup on windows xp and we share the database with 10 users, i just installed a cisco vpn router and am trying to connect to the database through vpn, but when i go in administrator and try to conenct to database i dont cant see the database,

i know there are some setting in sql but i dont know what they are please help.

Good Morning,

Using Maximizer over a VPN is not a supported method of use I'm afraid, the amount of data traffic that Maximizer generates quickly overwhelms most broadband connections. Even if it does connect the performance is likely to be incredibly slow.

However if you really want to try it then I would suggest you make sure to turn off the firewall on your VPN connection, look up the SQL Port Numbers (usually 1433 or 1434) and make sure that the VPN Router is configured to forward those ports to the appropriate server.

If your requirements are for a great deal of remote access to Maximizer I would suggest you strongly consider the Group Edition however as it includes remote synching clients and web portals.

thankyou so much for your help,, i tried opening the ports and it works fine,, regarding bandwith we are not to worried because we have 2 T1 connection on load barring
