Hi,

We have just installed max 9 (server install on winxp pro) on a client's system and we cannot print the appointment details report. After we select the details for the report (full detail with contact number etc, date range) and press ok, Max gives us the following error:

Unable to instance an Crystal Report runtime object

The appointment details report has not been modified.

We are also experiencing the same error on one of our own workstations, using a customised appointment details report, using Max 8. There is no error when we use the default appointment details report, and the customised report works on another max 8 workstation.

We have searched both the Maximizer and the Business Objects websites and forums but have not found any relevant articles.

How can we get rid of the error so we can print the report?

many thanks in advance

Victor

Hi Alex,

The problem relates to a conflict with the installation of other applications that use Crystal Run-time v9 or v8.5 that were installed after Max on that workstation. Earlier versions of Crystal use to Program Files\Common Files\Crystal Decisions and later versions use Program Files\Common Files\Business Objects, and I believe the programmes are not pathing correctly.

To overcome the problem, reinstall Max on that workstation and let me know how you get on.
