We have recently upgraded from Max Ent 8 SQL to Max Ent 9 SQL and also upgraded Crystal Reports to Version 11.

We are now wanting to utilise some of the benefits on offer from teh Company Library. When files are embedded within the Company Library can anyone enlighten me as to :

a) where they are stored (file location directory would be good) ?

b) if they are encrypted in some way under Max, which file location directory and file would you subsequently expect to see increasing as a result of adding more documents ?

Before we implement embedding a significant about of documents we just want to make sure the relevant drive can handle the kb, Mb, Gb required.

Looking forward to anyone's guidance by return.

(ps I know we can link, however linking poses a few changes in the future should we wish to move files around between servers etc.)

Good Morning.

All document files inserted into Maximizer are stored with the MXZL.MAX file (if you are running the Pervasive version of Maximizer), this file is in the Maximizer database directory (which you can find easily by clicking File>>Open Address Book, highlighting the one you are interested in and click Explore).

The inserted files are placed into the MXZL file as binary rows in a table.

Under MS_SQL they are stored in [AMGR_Letters] within the SQL database. As with the Pervasive version, imbedded documents are stored as binary data in the corresponding SQL table.

If the documents are imbedded in the SQL database, the files that grow would be the SQL database files (.mdf and/or .ldf).
