We upgraded to version 10 a month ago. A number of entries that were originaly entered as contacts for a specific company no longer show up in Address Book. They still exist, but only in the Contacts window.

View> All Address Book entries does not result in showing all entries.

What can I do to have all Address Book entries including contacts, individuals and companies show up in the Address Book Window?

Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply Gord!

I tried your suggestion and the result was 184 invalid orphan records found. The Address Book Verification process created a list in View>Favorite Lists named "Entries - Invalid values <your UDF name>"

Upon opening the list I found it is empty. As in my last post, some Contacts still appear ONLY in the Contact Window and not in the Address Book.

In going over my upgrade installation notes, I found that the number of Address Book entries after the conversion from the Pervasive data base to the new Maximizer 10 data base was about 200 short. The Maximizer customer support tech that we paid to help us upgrade said that those names would reappear when we did a View>All Address Book Entries "refresh". They have not come back, but it seems that we have not lost them. They are just not in the Address Book window.

The significance is that when I search for a contact, I can't always find them in Address Book. If I remember the company name, I can bring up the Contact window for that company and I can find the contact. If I have the contact name, but no company name I am out of luck. Again this is for a few names ... not all.

I have noticed that when I compare an Address Book Record (in Address Book window) of a Contact that appears correctly, that the Company Name is shown just below the Contact Name.

When I view a Record (in Contacts window) the Company Name does not appear below the contact name.

Might be a clue, but no solution yet.

Thanks again for your help.

Regards,

J
I suspect that while Maximizer was upgrading the address book database to v10 it wrote some invalid values into [AMGR_Client] for those particular records. Probably a [Record_Type] or [Name_Type] that doesn't make sense. If you still have the opportunity to call on Maximizer for help they might be willing to take a look.
