Replies sorted oldest to newest

I want to copy information like the address fields out of the UDF area to the Basic info area. In South Africa we have an address via a private company int he legal market, and we use that instead of postal. But all the users until now have captured this into the UDF area. It would be too much PT to add a new address to each contact.
OK - but please note that I said a 'single value' table!

There isn't an automatic way to convert the table but it isn't too difficult if your table field doesn't have to many items.

Simply follow these steps:

1) Create an alphanumeric field

2) Then for each item in the table field

2a) Search for that item on the table field

2b) Select the whole list and then Global edit the item value onto the alphanumeric field.

3) When you have done this for each item delete the table field.

4) Rename the alphanumeric field to that of the table field (you could have called it the same name to start with if you don't mind getting confused!).

You could only do this with a multi value table if you prioritise the items and global edit the most important item last (possibly overwriting less important items).
