Howdy. We run Max 10 CRM Group (desktop). ...And have the customization kit

We've been using Max since version 5 in 1996. 95% of our client entries are INDIVIDUALS, and very very few are companies.

In the past versions, we'd hit INSERT on the keyboard and we'd get a new dialog which was smart enough to create an individual or company entry based on the user's input. ..But in 10, they made it default to Company, and the listed 3-key shortcut Ctrl-Shift-I doesn't work on any of our 5 workstations.

I've poured over the options and can't find a way to set the keyboard shortcuts or adjust that default.

...6 months into CRM10 and my boss and I still hit INSERT for individuals, curse, and grab the mouse to click add an individual from the Quick Access bar. We need our mnemonic keys!

Thanks!

After installing SR1, the insert individual shortcut still did not work, but then I quickly figured out I had a global hotkey in another app (that's on all PCs in my network) that did not actually do anything (except block others). I removed that, and logically all the listed mnemonics are working now.

..so we're better than yesterday, but I'm still curious if there's a way to easily change the default shortcuts?

Thanks

I am having the same problem with Maximizer 12 which we just upgraded to last week. I use the insert key a million times a day for individuals. Since updating to new software now 'Insert' wants to add a company. I need it to be individual. Although the Ctrl+Shift+I works for the individual it is much more time consuming then just hitting 'Insert'. I cannot find anywhere where this can be changed and trust me I know Maximizer pretty well after using it for 5 years. When I had a training session for the updated tools in the new software our trainer didn't even know where you would change those settings!!!! Does anyone know where you go (Not under the usual places such as preference or properties) HELP!!
You can not change the assigned short cut keys but there is quite an easy solution to this. If you look in the top left corner of the Maximizer screen you will see the quick access toolbar. Using the last option on the bar you can customise it to provide one click access to any command from the Maximizer menus. I suggest you add the insert individual command here.

A small tip on this is that the quick action toolbar respects the context of Maximizer so you must be in the addressbook window. Both to set up the command and for it to appear on the quick action tool bar.
