Hi there,

We have a network consisting of 6 computers running Maximizer 9 and Pervasive.SQL 9.1. All of the files used to be stored on a network NAS drive, which failed recently and was replaced by a newer unit, with mirrored drives. One machine was setup as Gateway locator, but all the Maximizer address book files were stored on the NAS drive.

Ever since we changed the unit, we have problem accessing the files stored there. It'll work great for a couple of hours, then when we try accessing them, it stops working. We then need to exit Maximizer, shut down the Pervasive engine, relaunch Maximizer and the WGE and reopen the Address Book.

Thinking it could be related to the NAS drive, we updated it to the latest firmware. Same issues. We already have the latest Maximizer 9 update installed, so we then updated the Pervasive to 9.5 SP2 and then 9.7. Since then, we often get W3DBSMGR.EXE errors saying the memory could not be read, and the program crashes. We still have the same problems with the WGE and the address books however. And once we got a 3006 error. We enabled auto-reconnect in the Pervasive 9 Control Center, and even went so far as updating all network drivers and changing the Ethernet switch to a faster gigabit model. We uninstalled the antivirus in case it could have been the cause. We disabled the firewall, and even put the Gateway into the DMZ zone on the router to see if it would change anything.

We still have the same errors and problems however.

We deleted all the LOC files from the address book folders, amd recreated them all one by one from the gateway, after all the updates had been done. Still, we are plagued by the same issues.

Any idea what could be causing this?

Thanks,

Sylvain.
