I've used Maximiser for several years (Maximiser 3) and have recently loaded my copy onto my new laptop. As I try to save documents, I get a message that there is insufficient storage space on my C Drive (it's 2+ Gigs with 25% space free). I tried installing a separate copy of Maximizer onto my D drive (3+ Gigs, 95% Free) intending to restore a saved copy to the empty program, and delete the C drive copy. However, the re-installed program on D simply picked up the saved data on C and I still could not save a document.

Garrison,

I'm not quite sure whats happening here but quite a number of older(and newish!) programs have a problems with manipulating disk sizes over 2GB (due to 32 bit storage) this frequently leads to a value for free disk space of 0 which is possibly whats happening here.

There is a slight chance of file damage but I'm not sure from what you say this usually gives btrieve error numbers.

Why not consider upgrading to Maximizer 6 for your new laptop, if your a single user the upgrades quite reasonably priced.

Try our store at www.cabc.co.uk or your local reseller.

PS have you installed the 32bit or 16bit version of 3.0is? if its the 16bit version try the other set of disks.
Thank you very much for your reply. I was going to upgrade to 6 but I believe I saw that Max is no longer upgrading from 3 to 6. I think I'm going to back up the data, delete both installed Max 3's, install a new Max 6 and restore the files. However, I have a haunted feeling that everything will go wrong and I'll end up cursing all change as bad. I looked at Max 6 at your store and thought the prices were wonderful until I realized the prices were in Pound Sterling. Being provincial, I have no idea what the exchange rate is or whether the shipping would kill even a lower price.
Again, thank you for your reply. Your site is quite well constructed and I'm sure I'll find it very useful in the future.
