Hi everyone,

When I try and open one my existing address book in maximizer, I'm gettin the message "Please select a DSN for the directory..." followed by the directory name of my addressbook. (the title on the blue bar at the top of the message syas "Mamaster")

Why the sudden problem? How can I select a DSN? Can anyone help? The address book is where it should be on my computer, and hasn't been altered since opening last week without a problem.

IMPORTANT: Please keep in mind that I'm a total novice. I know nothing about programing, am not really familiar with what a DSN is and how it works (or doesn't work). So please dumb it down for me. Smile

Are you saying that you can open other address books, but a particular one is giving you that message? If so, try this:

- If Maximizer is open, close it. Launch the Administrator module, then choose

File > Close Address Book

(If it is grayed out, simply proceed with the next step.)

- Choose

File > Open Address Book...

and select the address book in question. Notice that the path to the address book folder is displayed in the box at the bottom of the dialog. Right-click that box and choose "Select All", then right-click it again and choose "Copy".

- Click the "Remove" button in the dialog to remove that entry from the address book list. When prompted to confirm the removal click "OK", then click "Cancel" to close the dialog.

- Now select

File > New Address Book...

Type a name for the address book (can be the same as before), then right-click the "Location of Address Book" box and choose "Paste". Click "OK". You should see a message that says "Maximizer files have been found in the folder...". Click "OK" to confirm.

- Close the Administrator module and try opening the address book in Maximizer. Let us know how it turned out.
>Will the steps above still work in this case

Probably not. In that case your best bet is to uninstall Maximizer and the reinstall it. There are detailed instructions in the Maximizer Knowledge Base, specifically
