I don't want the waste of a UDF doing the same thing as a built-in.

Specifically, I use essentially an opt-in:
C = gets Christmas card (theoretcially)
N = No : No mass mailings
Y = Yes : Yes to mass mailings

These concise codes let me display this field with only a few pixels in my column setup.

If I can't get rid of the lengthy-built-in fields, is there at least a way to sort them to the bottom? Maybe with a registry edit?

As a last resort, I guess I could make my fields !C, !N, and !Y so that they always come on top...

Sorry, but I don't follow. What "lengthy-built-in fields" are you referring to? In what context do you want to get rid of them and bring yours to the top? How does this relate to "the waste of a UDF doing the same thing as a built-in."?

What exactly are you doing, where are you doing it and how, and what exactly is the problem?

Sorry; I meant "lengthy built-in items," not "fields," namely, "Email, Fax, Phone, Print."

I have a UDF called "ML" (mailing list) with short items like "C, N, and Y." "Do not solicit by" makes this UDF redundant.

But I would like to change the items in "Do not solicit by" to single-character items, or add my own single-character items and move the default ones to the bottom.

In the "lead status," for example, you cannot delete "hot, warm, cold" but can rename them to "A, B, C" if you like. I was hoping for similar flexibility in the "Do not solicit by" field.
The "Do not solicit by" SDF (system-defined field) was added to help Maximizer users comply with anti-spam legislation like the U.S. CAN-SPAM Act of 2003. Since it is an integral part of the application it stands to reason that the pre-defined items cannot be altered.

For example, the value "Email" is required to omit clients from automated Email campaigns. The value "Print" is needed to exclude clients from automated print campaigns. And so on.

For your purposes, just use your own values.
