Error when installing Maximizer 5.0 on Windows Vista

This is probably a path error. Maximizer 5.0 was written long before Windows Vista and this is not a supported configuration. You will probably get it to work if you ensure W32mkde.exe is in location defined in the PATH environment variable. You could also try copying the btrieve 32 files back to the Maximizer application folder. For a fully supported solution on Vista or Windows 7 you should consider upgrading to Maximizer 11 Entrepreneur edition which you can purchase from Advoco Solutions

For details of how to update a PATH variable you can simply google some examples eg changing PATH. If you are not familiar with changing PATH variable please be careful as you could stop other parts of your computer working correctly if you set it to an invalid or incorrect value.

Maximizer 5.0 data can be upgraded to the latest version. However, this process must be done on a computer where the old btrieve/pervasive engine is already working. This may make it difficult for you.
