Generally this error can be fixed by completely uninstalling the SQL express instance before you reinstall Maximizer. Caution:- you should take care if you have other applications that use Microsoft SQL on the computer and that you fully understand the consequences of this. Normally you only need to uninstall the Maximizer instance but if the conflict is due to problems with previous versions of SQL express on the computer, you may need to do more than this. If you believe you have data in existing databases in Maximizer/SQL then we would recommend that you use SQL express management studio to back-up this data if possible before removing the SQL instance as these databases will not be automatically available when Maximizer is re-installed and you will need to restore them from these backups.
Generally we would approach this problem by running the SQL express installation kit independantly from the Maximizer installation. This will enable you to get a clearer indication of the error that is actually occuring within the SQL installation. In some cases these types of problems can also arise from damage to the .Net installation and repairing .Net may help resolve the issue. Unfortunately it is difficult to give more detailed advise on a problem which will probably require individual diagnosis. An installation/support incident (which will enable us to connect to your pc) can be purchased from www.crmshop.co.uk if you would like our on-line assistance
In some instances this error can occur if the name of the user installing the software is the same as the name of the computer on which you are installing. To overcome this add another user to the computer that is a member of the administrators group, log in as that user then install Maximizer and then log out and log in as the original user.
