Exporting Notes and Documents

You can export notes using Maximizer, but commas and tabs within the note can screw up your export. You cannot export documents though.

Concerning the Documents, is there a way to work on the MXZL.MAX file at the Btrieve level? I've been reading that using Btrieve's Data Dictionary Files can help to build TXT file. Anyone can help?

Hi,

It sounds to me like your trying to extract all of your data from Maximizer. We can help you with this if you wish but I can give you a few pointers.

If you wish to get all of the notes from the data I would acquire a later copy of Maximizer with an ODBC driver. I think version 5.5 onwards has one. You can then query the database via MS access or similar to get the notes you require.

The DDF files that relate to the Maximizer files are unpublished, you maybe able to reverse engineer one using a DDF editor try the Tektips Btrieve forum for more advice.

The Files can be a dropped to a Txt file quite readily using the W32maint utility however this is unlikely to let you get at your documents in accessable format, beware they may have been split up around the file in order to package more data into the file.
