If you are no longer running Max Exchange you can go to the Maximzier Administrator and log into the appropriate database, then click File>>Preferences and on the first screen you can untick the box for 'enable transaction journaling'. This will stop the system from recording new transactions.
To remove the existing you can just shut down Maximizer and the Pervasive Database Engine then rename the MXZTRAN.MAX to MXZTRAN.old, then restart Maximizer and it will create a new blank MXZTRAN.MAX, once that is done you can delete the MXZTRAN.old.
However be aware that this is only suggested on a system where Max Exchange Server has been either removed or not installed at all.
