Wondering how other people print out detailed contact reports w/o ending up with a huge paper stack.

I have migrated to Maximizer from GoldMine and ACT, and find many things about Maximizer I like. However scheduling & reports are not 2 of them.

If anyone has suggestions on issues below, I would love to hear them. BTW, is this an active forum? Seems like many questions go unanswered and not a whole lot of viewing. If there are other forums that are more appropriate and active, please let me know.

Issue 1
All of my selling is face-to-face with customers, with a huge focus of selling to the company, not an individual. So I need to print out a report that shows, among the standard info, a list of company contacts & contact info, a list of open activies. If I print the Address Book Detailed Report, it prints out every activity I've scheduled with company. Can't figure out how to filter this. Also if I select contacts, it prints out all misc info for each contact. I've tried to work around this by printing out 3-4 reports for each company, i.e. Name/Address/Tel, Activity Report, etc, but this is very cumbersome.

Any ideas?

Methuen, I can't answer the reporting question, but can respond to whether this is an active forum - at least from my perspective.

First off, let me start by thanking CABC for hosting this forum. I can't believe they really make much money off it, and I applaud them for doing what the folks at Maximizer should be doing themselves.

We've been using Max for our company for 2 years, and one of the first things I sought out was a user forum. This is the most active one I, and our IT firm, have found. There are also a number of very knowledgeable people on board so it can be a very valuable resource. I did find a Yahoo group focussed on Max, but it seemed to be either completely dead or on its last gasp.

However, like all forums, people don't always monitor Maxtalk on a regular basis. And if they can't answer a question, they don't - you can see how many have viewed vs. replied to each post. I'll admit that I find it frustrating, as I can't believe with so many Max users out there only a handful are active in Max-related forums. Frankly, I'm surprised that this is as good as it gets, and wish the Max folks got their head out of the sand and supported their user community by promoting and participating in MaxTalk. Maybe what we need is for a large number of users to demand that Max do so?
All we need is larger numbers of members to reach a critical mass.

Anyway, the bottom line for me is that :

- This is the best I've found so far
- It will only get better with more members, so I'm going to be one of those
- It will only attract more members if people are active, so I'm going to be as active as I can; It takes 5 minutes each day to check it, and the potential payoff to me is huge

Hope you make the same decison. But if you do find a better forum, please let us all know! <g>

- R.
