Please help!

We set up two user fields, Send Letter (for type of letter) and Send Letter Date (so our admin would have some way of tracking when to print the letter).

This works OK, but from time to time we need to clear this data out. The problem: we send hundreds of letters out per week per person, so it's not feasible to go into each contact and clear out the data.

We need a way to clear the user field out once the letter has been sent. I've tried Global Edit, but that doesn't delete, only change data. The only other thing I can think of is doing a macro, but I can never get those to work. Any suggestions will be much appreciated! Thanks!!

What about using Global Edit more creatively?

ie - Create a Table UDF with "Send Letter" and "Don't Send Letter" as options. Once you've sent the letter, use Global Edit to Replace "Send Letter" with "Don't Send Letter" for appropriate entries. Put "Send Letter Date" in a separate UDF - if the other UDF = "Don't Send Letter" who cares about the date?

As an FYI, macros do work and really well too, but you have to be careful setting them up, paying particular attention to the start/end points.

Hope this helps - R.
