I want to import my Act!6 database into MAX9 but after selecting the file to import and telling it to start the program crashes. No error message, just the "do you want to send the details to microsoft" box.
I have tried this on 3 PCs, with 3 different operating systems win2000-sp4, XP Pro-sp2 and XP Home.
The errorlog txt file is blank.

I also tried to import a goldmine6.5 database on the win2000 machine, this crashed at the same point.

Why is the import wizard of the trial version crashing? I want to try the program on real data before upgrading my company.

Nick in UK.

I have a solution so I thought I'd make a note in case it helps someone else.

The trial version that I downloaded from the max.co.uk website was a VERY old version (1604 I think.) It was definitely before SR1.

When I eventually applied SR1 and SP2 it all worked perfectly.

I am mystified as to why max.co.uk recommend such an old version to people who are new to the program. They don't even have SP2 on their website. This is the site that is supposed to support the whole of Europe. I think we deserve better than this.

Even stranger is that Max UK charge almost double for Max9 what you pay in the USA.

I will just deal with maximizer.com in future, I wasted many hours trying to make this ancient version work.
