After a few years of inserting Objects/documents etc. into Maximizer using the drop down menu "Insert Object" My Maximizer V5.0 and V6.0 ( on two differnet computers) have stopped responding to that function. The same copy of Maximizer on my laptop works fine, so I am guessing that I have a conflict with some other type of software... but I was wondering if anyone has a quick fix.

Thanks.

In what way do you mean it is not responding, it just hangs? or appears to work but there is no document attached?

Are you getting any error messages?

Are you linking or Embedding a document?

Have you had any new virus checking software installed lately?

How big is your letters file? (MXZL.MAX)

I have tried to embed and also to link documents and neither function works. It doesn't really hang and no error message is generated it just fails to do anything. ( it doesn't offer the document information window ) I have tried it several different ways but the only way that I am able to embed a document is to use the "write document" function, erase anything that is on the template and use the windows copy function which is not really very efficient.

While the MXZL.MAX file is fairly large at 618 mg. The document functions work properly with the same size file on my laptop. Thus my guess it is a software conflict but I am not really sure with what. I don't have new virus software having used Symantec for over a year.

All of a sudden this started to happen ( or failed to work) on both a V.5 and V.6.0 on different computers on my small network that has been running well for over a year.
Do you have both versions (V5 and V6) trying to access the same data?

What, if any, new software have you had installed lately?

Try turning off the Virus Checker, i know you said it has worked well in the past, but have you recently updated the Virus definitions.
