You can load a Word Template without have to create a macro. Right Click the Maximizer toolbar and select Customize. Click Add in the Toolbars windows - this will open up a new window titled Customize Toolbar. Click the Add button. Yet another window will open titled Add Toolbar Button. Select Open a document or application. In the Document/Application input field enter your path to Word followed by a space and then the path to your template. Remember the quotes - something like this.

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\WINWORD.EXE" "C:\My Documents\My Template.dot"

Finish off the rest of the selections and your done. Now when you click your newly created Maximizer Toolbar button your Word template will load.

Dear Iris,

Thank you for your suggestion on this. I have followed your suggestions but haven't been able to get the button to open the template. All that I have been able to do is to get it to open up word. Here is the path that I have placed in the Document/Application window:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\WINWORD.exe" "C:\Documents and Settings\pc15\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates\Psytech Outsourcing Proposal.dot"

Can you see any reason why this would not be working?

REgards,

Benjamin
Dear Iris,

I have managed to make this work now thanks but have a couple of other questions for you, if you would be so kind.

1. When the template opens, it opens as a template, not as a word document, and I am unable to save it as a word document.
2. Do you know how to unlink the fields within the document, so that when I reopen it, it does not automatically update to the selected contact?

Thank you for your help.

Regards,

Ben
