MADATA6.DAT going to the internet -- firewall issues

I just installed ZoneAlarm and everytime I start Maximizer, madata6.dat is trying to to out to the internet, specifically to my ISP's DNS server. What is it trying to do? If I deny it, it tries 16 more times but the application still seems to work fine. I'm sure it's not doing anything nefarious, but I'm just curious.

Could be the email integration. Max connects to your Outlook/Outlook Express profile at startup. Maybe it's something to do with that.

I know with the Win XP SP2 firewall, it tries to lock out the Pervasive database engine. Don't really know why... If I grant an exception to the Pervasive exe, then everything works just fine. Never seen madata6.dat get picked up by Zone Alarm before, though.

I don't use the email integration. Can I turn that off?

No problem granting an exception to Pervasive. Did that already and it hasn't asked again.
