Is there any way to bulk transfer appointments from one user to another. For example if a user leaves employment to be replaced by a new user where all the former user's appointments are taken up by the new user?

Yes, you can do this exactly which way you approach the problem will depend on the current preferences for the departed users calendar and hotlist sharing. If the departed user has not given you full access to their hotlist and calendar then it may be simpler to log in to the old users Maximizer account. If you have access simply choose their name at the top of the hotlist window so that you are now seeing their hotlist. Ensure that you have included appointments in the list (show appointments ticked)
Build a custom hotlist for a time range well into the future so that you can see all of the tasks and appointments they had scheduled.
Now do edit/select all and finally click edit/reasign.
Of course if you wish to give the tasks to different people you can manually perform the selection task by task and just reassign that block.
