I have been using Max 8.0 on single user Dell laptop.

Just started to try producing letters using Max WP but although looking fine on screen and preview when printing, the full name and address , title and last line of every paragraph preint upside down and inside out
( looks bit like Russian but I don't speak it).

I have seen something like this before with Max 7.0 just before it decided to destroy my entire database.

Any ideas anyone ?

The Maximizer Word Processor is not that bad!!

Its a case of you either loath it or love it.

I am going to have a wild guess here and say that you are using a Brother printer??

Have come across the issue before and was instructed to update the Brother driver to rectify the problem. Beleive it corrected the problem.

If not, then MS Word may have to be the option until a fix can be produced by Maximizer Inc.

All other aspects i.e. reports should print fine, its just the WP.
I can't speak to the technical side of the Max Word Processor, but I can say that its seamless link to the Address Book entries and ability to easily save a Max Document to the database is great. The problems I see as a user are the limited word processing capabilities - no support for tables, forms, etc. If it provided more word processing capabilities we'd use it for everything in a second - so it's important you loook at what you need your word processor to do before passing judgement. As it is we use is in a very limited way, mostly using Word completely disconnected from Max. As a plug for CABC they have a product that links Max and Word much more tightly together - you can get access to more info on it fron this web site. We have looked at it but other projects bubbled up to the head of the line so that's on the back burner again (sorry, CABC!).

In answer to Rooster's points I have to say that I would normally feel it justifiable to pass judgement on a WP package if it can't even print a straight forward mail-shot the right way up, irrespective of the other bells and whistles it might have.

I have bought MaxDoc which I believe you refer to as the CABC product and it's working, but very complex.

Having said all that, Avrion is right. It is a Brother printer so I'm exploring that avenue. Thanks to both.
