I've installed Max 9 on my standalone laptop running XP Home. I'm getting a 3012 error, local engine is not accessible to the Microkernal router. An icon on my task bar indicates that the Pervasive Database is pre-loaded.

I tried re-installing with all background programs shut down and that did not help. Based on another posting, I shut down Norton Internet Security and still had the problem. I'm thinking the next step is to run a Windows repair and reintall Max.

Anyone encounter this? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks for your reply Feejo. I did turn off NAV and NIS...no change. I uninstalled my Max 5 before loading Max 9. I had Maximizer tech support do an install with me but it didn't work. The suggested strategy: Do a repair on Windows (need to get a copy of XP Home as my laptop only came with a recovery CD). If that doesn't work, need to reinstall my operating system with nothing else, then load maximizer. I then add my other programs and see which one is causing the conflict. I'm hoping that I don't have to do all that.
