We recently upgraded (??) to Max 10 CRM. When we click on the task bar button for the editor, it notes the click (blinks) but nothing else happens.

If we go to existing (converted) documents and try to open them, same thing - nothing. That is, nothing until you try to do this multiple times, after which it says too many are open and some will have to be closed.

We have used Maximizer since V3 or thereabouts, so are really mystified by this behavior.

Could be a db problem? Did you verify the db in Administrator? Then, create a new address book. It will ask if you want to copy the layout from the old address book, say yes. View all entries in the old address book, and then transfer all these into the new db. Do a verify. Also, try creating some new user security levels and applying this to the exported db if all else fails. Create a super admin user and see if this can open the editor files.

By chance did you upgrade to Vista at the same time?

My guess is that you need to drop a file from a Win XP machine into your c:/Windows/System32 folder on your new Vista machine. The file is winfax.dll - I can email it to you if you need it, just PM me.

For some strange reason the Max Editor is dependant on the existance of this DLL. I had the same problem when I ported Max 9.5 over to a new Vista laptop.

Regards,
Greg
