Hi,
a while ago my boss updated his laptop which is setup with max exchange remote. So i rang our maximizer tech and he said it is easy just install maximizer etc and copy the max exchange folder on the old laptop to the new one.
So i did that and it works a treat. exchanging packets from the remote to the server. Now for 4 months. Cool!

But we are changing ISP's and i want to change the email address on the laptop. so i go to the "Administrator > utilites >max exchange site manager"
But when i open this link a warning comes up saying "the address book you are opening is being synchronized with the server. MaxExchange Site Manager information will be read only. and you click ok.
you can see all the info but you can't change any thing.
What is the problem?

But the funny thing is that all the packets have been synchronized!

Thanks

MaxExchange apparently wants you to make all changes to the distribution list information on the server side, not at the remote....
You can only change the information in the distribution list manager from the maxExchange server itself. To change the email with very little interruption to the user you will want to change the email address in the distribution list manager before actually changing ISP's. That change (rrr@rrr.com to qqq@qqq.com) will be sent in the next set of packets to the user. When the user processes the packets the new Email address will be recorded. Now Change ISP's and when the packets come in from the server the user will recognize them as being the correct packets.

Advice for young players, find a way to switch your transport protocol to FTP now, dial in to a RAS server, use a VPN, only sync while your in the office, get an external IP, but if you want Exchange to reliably work make the switch.
