Hi,

I'm just installing MaxExchange 7.5, all the workstations are 7.5 Enterprise.

I have just done my first full refresh (using FTP) and a lot of data has been transferred from the server to the remote. BUT, when I open the remote copy of my Max address book, there is no data in it, despite there appearing to be an appropriate amount of data being transferred.

Here's the contents of rmdmlog.txt:

Hi,

Did you mark any of your clients for synchronization with the *MaxExchange UDF?
-yes

Have you used the MaxExchange diagnostic tool to see if that site has any of the clients mapped to it?
- I've used Site Manager, is there another tool I can use?

Did you actually receive the information and all you need to do is "View All"
- I've definitely tried View All...there's nothing there. BUT, MaxExchange Remore definitely received a refresh and spend some decompressing and processing data

So many things to check.

- I know :-( I'll post some screenshots tomorrow...
I am tracking down my MaxExchange problem.Site Manager seems to be set up correctly, I can't see anything wrong via the diagbostic program.

First, I think all is OK on the server. It is processing updates, and the /OUTBOX folder looks OK.

On the remote machine, I am using FTP connection, and the FTP test works OK. When I set the error logging to its most verbose, and I look at the remote activity log, it shows:

26.01.2004 12:48:55:96 - Looking for packet # 1
26.01.2004 12:48:55:96 - Found Header File C:\PROGRAM FILES\MAXIMIZER\MAXEXCHANGE\INBOX\2E88FA8E\EDI00001.HDR

What am I doing wrong?

Hi,

I finally solved this by checking something in the Help file Roll Eyes

One of the most common mistakes made by Distribution Site users is to ask for a resend of the missing packet while the packet is, in actuality, still in transit from the MaxExchange Server. Unless instructed otherwise by your Multiactive Business Partner or system administrator, follow the steps described below:

1. The first time you receive this message, click Wait for Packet and note the packet number. Depending on the processing and transport cycle times, it may take some time for the packet to arrive.

2. At your next planned transport / processing session, process once again and see if the late packet has arrived. If you receive the message for the same packet number again, click Resend Packet.

The problem was that the first packet was huge, and so took a long time to arrive. MaxExch told me that the packet had not arrived, when in fact it was "in transit". Watching the network traffic in task manager showed me that the data transfer was, in fact, in progress.

That, and a quick re-install to get back to a baseline, fixed it.

Thanks to all for your help,

Pasta
