MaxExchange issue

I had to change the location of the MaxExchange fold from 1 partitioned drive on the server to another drive on the server as the original was running out of disk space. The transport mode is network direct. When I start procssing packets on the MaxExchange server I get the following error message:

Could not load mail system Library Function

After that the processing log shows the following messages:

Please verify your email settings from the Edit/Email Preferences menu item.
If you are using email as your MaxExchange transport method, you must have a MAPI compliant email system installed.
The MaxExchange Service must also be configured to log on with a user account that has sufficient security rights to start the email system.

I cannot see why email should come into this & it was working ok before. Any ideas?

Sorry. I forgot to mention that we use Maximizer Enterprise 9.5
