Hi i have just upgraded a customers maximizer server (running w2k prof) and reconfigured the other workstations to seek the new server.
loaded up maximizer exchange etc everything works fine even swaping packets etc.

the problem is when one workstation opens maximizer an alternative workstation will not open maximizer.
we have 1 server, 1 remote, 3 workstations.
if you log onto more than 2 no joy.
i have loaded the licenses in administrator it say we have 10.
So what is the problem

>thanks les, is what you have suggested hard to do?

Transferring Address Book entries (via File > Transfer) is quite straightforward. Check the on-line help for details.

>does anyone else have this experince?

It's difficult to say because you don't give us any specific error messages or symptoms (hang, crash, or whatever). "No joy" doesn't really give us much to go on. Wink

However, you do say:

>i have loaded the licenses in administrator it say we have 10

If this is a Workgroup (not client-server) install, are you sure that this was done on the current gateway machine? Maximizer may have enabled the Address Book for 10 users, but the Pervasive.SQL WorkGroup Engine (WGE) might not be aware of that.

A WGE install defaults to three users, so that could explain your problem: one MaxExchange plus two "real" users would account for three WGE licenses. You can check the WGE licenses on the gateway machine via the User Count Administrator utility (dig around under Start > Programs > Pervasive to find it).

Sorry--on any alternate workstation when you start max it goes through to the password request, type it and you're in, but as i metioned go to another workstation (any after 3 already logged on) and it stops at the window asking to select a address book. if you select the one you want nothing happens.

peer to peer. i will check it? could be possible!

thanks

IIRC, Maximizer license files cannot be applied directly to the WorkGroup Engine via Pervasive's User Count Administrator. They must be applied via Maximizer's Administrator module on the machine that will be acting as the gateway, which is normally the machine where Maximizer was installed as the server.
