For the first time in nearly 2 years, Maximizer 7 won't start up. The opening screen comes up, but it just freezes and fails to respond.

I have 256RAM in the computer and I haven't made any changes to the computer, so it's rather strange that it won't start up anymore. Anyone else have this problem or know what might be causing it to freeze upon program startup.

If I do have to reinstall Maximizer (which is fine because I just did a quick-backup last week, what folders/files should I save before re-install?

(thanks in advance)

Doubt very much it's RAM. Have been using Max 7 since it's been out both stand-alone and under Terminal Services and never had this happen. Have you tried booting into Safe Mode and trying it then? To be honest, not even sure you can run Max in Safe Mode, but I'd try it just to see what happened ... (semi-technical here). Does it happen with all Address Books? Any other applications? Have you tried rebooting the machine, then starting just Max as first application? What software/hardware have you installed or changed lately?

Thanks for the reply. I tried rebooting it several times. After only trying to defrag the computer(windows won't let me defrag), now Maximizer alerts me that "error launching Maximizer".

I removed the program, though I noticed that the initial Maximizer program showed that 0mb was being used (?!) for the program in the add/remove programs view (within the Control Panel view). I uninstalled it and reinstalled it. But now, and this is my only problem now, Maximizer won't let me restore my backup.

I followed the instructions that told me to login to the adminstration tool and restore it that way, but the restore choices are greyed out. I don't care if Maximizer crashes, but I HAVE to restore the 2 years of contacts we have.

Thanks again in advance - any ideas?
