Maximizer 8 problems opening documents stored in customer file

I feel dumb answering my own problems but I thought I would post the answer for anyone else that happens to have the same issue. The reason the documents are presently not available is the documents in our office are saved in everyone's own directory that is for that user, thus all other users in the office are not allowed to see those files. The solution is to create a folder that all users have access to and save documents in the folder that you want to link to the address books and then the problem will not happen. I wish there was a way to save a docment in a folder and that document would also be permissioned so everyone could access it. I also think if you ever delete or move a file into another folder than you may loose your access to those documents in Maximizer. A great feature but you have to make sure you never alter or change the name of that folder on your server. I wish Maximizer would figure out a way to also embed the doucment so the orginal document could be destroyed and the copy would tag along with Maximizer. That is the way I would like it to work.

The owner of a file always has permissions to alter the security settings on it. Of course, they might not know how to do it (e.g., right-click > Properties > Security), but they can.

For linked documents, yes.

With the Documents tab (or window) active, try experimenting with Edit > Insert File...
