Here is a desperate cry for help.

I have Maximizer 6 with SP2 & SP3 installed under WindowsXP with the database on a servere in a peer-to-peer environment.

All other users are working OK but on my machine, things are going haywire.
1. FILE/NEW ADDRESS BOOK - I enter a name and point to the location on the server. Everything seems OK, but when I come back to OPEN the address book, the 'Available Address Book' window has a blank line instead of the description and the location is blank. Clicking on it says 'Folder [blank] no longer exists' and if I look at the properties of this folder both description and location are blank. If I then close Maximizer and re-open it, it will open to the supposedly non-existent address book - but it still shows as a [blank] option in the 'Available Address Book' window.

2. VIEW/TOOLBARS and setting the icon toolbar as docked and visible. Then set 'Save settings on exit' - on re-opening Maximizer, the icons toolbar is floating again.

I have tried re-installing from scratch and even using the XP facility of reverting to a previous system checkpoint, all without success.

The only recent changes I have made are installing normal XP system updates and Adobe Reader 6.0 (restoring to prior to these updates did not solve the problem).

Anybody got any ideas please? All other users are still working OK.

Both 'could' be narrowed down to a Registry saving problem, what sort of rights do you have to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE?

If you have quite high rights (Local Admin?) then the Toolbar Registry keys could be just broken?

These are in HKEY_CURRENT_USER

Delete all keys between HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Multiactive Software\Maximizer\Modules\AMGR\Toolbar and ToolsMenu (including Toolbar and ToolsMenu)

However you will have to delete them one at a time as you cannot do Group deletes in the registry.

The following has just been published but has been around for sometime, even on Win2k:
support.multiactive.com/scripts/support.cfg/php.exe/enduser/std_adp.php?p_sid=9rhT1hOg&p_lva=&p_refno=030711-000002

Which XP updates have you installed, i once saw a similar problem with an updated XP machine but it went away after the next update, if i remember rightly there was an admission in it regarding bugs in the last update that were resolved by this one.
