I installed a DSL connection using an Efficient Networks router for my small peer-to-peer network in our office but now am not able to synch Maximizer with MaxExchange. The problem is that the router requires an automatic IP address and - from what I understand - Max Exchange requires a static IP address. How do I get around this? I am using Max 5.5/2000 and MaxExchange 5.5 Btrieve Version 6.15. Thank you.

there is no way around this. MaxExchange must have a static IP address. That IP address is written to the hdr file of your MaxExchange Packets, and once downloaded to the Reomte written to the MXZREM.MAX file. When the remote goes to connect again it reads the IP address from that MXZREM file if that address does not exist anymore because the MaxExchange server IP address has been changed, your remote will not connect.

You should however still be able to use email transport method. But I wouldn't get a static IP.
