MaxLink 7 - Can't Sync System conduit?

Every time I enable the System conduit I get an "Unknown error FFFF" when syncing. I can sync the Journal/Memo Pad, Address Book, To-Do List, etc. ok.

My last resort has been to go into the Palm Desktop, set the System conduit to "Do Nothing" and in Maximizer Link configuration disable the "Revert to Sync" setting so the System conduit stays disabled.

Question is twofold - (1) What am I hurting by doing this? (2) How can I get around it?
