Maxlink personal records

Check your synchronizations settings in Maximizer - you probably have it set to synchronize ALL Palm categories. Select just the ones you want and on the Palm record any personal records that you DONT'T want sync'd in a category that isn't selected in your synchronization settings.

Thanks for your suggestion, but I do not have synchronize all palm categories. In the MaxLink, under "global settings" I have "synchronize only this category" which is the address book that I use at work. I was hoping that I could have some dates on my Palm which are for home, which are not synchronized with work. Is there a way?

With the exception of the category clients enter an address only under each of the other Palm categories and report back. Use a last name like zzPersonal, zzHome, etc. and then sync. Sort your Maximizer records by last name and see which ones get sync'd (if any).

I'm going to check some other settings in the meantime.

If any of the zz* names sync'd then that tells you that your configuration isn't set-up as you say. But, I'm assuming they won't so the issue lies with the "include Personal records" option. This is performing as it should. However, it appears you want a different result for privacy concerns I imagine. You may try the following as a workaround.

First off, uncheck "Include Personal Records" from your Global settings. This will have the effect of NOT sync'g those records which you wish to remain private.

Next, create a Maximizer address book record for yourself. Include those appointments, notes or whatever with this record.

So, as a scenario, your going to be away from work for a few days for personal reasons and you want co-workers to know that so they don't schedule appts. Select yourself in Maximizer and schedule an appt and enter the details. (This is what your co-workers will see). On your Palm then you can enter additional details of what your doing those days off - these records won't be sync'd and co-workers won't see them.

I think this is the best you can hope for. When you select to "Include Personal Records" under your HotSync options your basically telling Maximizer/Palm to sync ALL personal records - you can't pick and choose. Hopefully, my workaround will do it for you. Just experiment.
