Hi,

I have a problem with a machine running Maximizer 6. Up until today it's been working fine but now when the database starts to open I get the following message: "Maxwin.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. An errors log is being created." Then it quits. It happens with all address books, even the tutorial one. And I can't seem to find this error log that it mentions.

I've a feeling it might have something to do with the state of the desktop on the users last exit. Is there anyway of restoring a desktop to it's default without running Maximizer? - via a config file or in the registery?

Oh yeah - it's running on Win2k by the way.

Any help/thoughts are much appreciated!

-thanks,

Ben

Well I've done some further investigation into this and it seems to be only when the address book is opened. I disabled all windows on startup by editing the registery (Maximizer Technologies\Maximizer\Startup) and changing the first digit from a positive number to a negative number for each module. i.e. if the first digit of the calender key is 5, change that to a -5 and the calender won't start on next startup.

Anyway, I stopped eveything loading on startup and then clicked on the calender, everything's fine, then the hotlist, everything's fine, then the address book and get the same error.

The funny thing is that I can open the address book up on a different machine.

Any thoughts?

thanks,

Ben
That seems to have done the trick! - Many thanks Gord.

- If you have time, could you explain why this happens? What is the problem with OrderDesk?

Anyway, thanks again.

Ben
