There is a much easier way:

Do a search and find the 800 records you want to transfer. Once you have them on the screen, go to the Edit menu and click Select All. Then, go to the File menu and go down to Transfer. Select Address Book Entries. On the new window that pops up, make sure Direct Address Book access is selected, select the Address Book you want to transfer into and click the OK button. Follow the rest of the on-screen prompts and you should be ready to go.

On thing to remember - when you open the Address Book you transferred into, make sure to click on the View menu and select All Companies and Individuals to refresh the screen.
I am having great difficulty with my entire address book. I had saved it to a CD and reinstalled it on another laptop.

Unfortunately my original address book of 2000+ companies was initially reduced to 1600 and all the UDFs , telephone numbers + notes wiped out altogether.

Recently, in making one final attempt to restore the UDFs ( file of 17.3 Mb) I lost everything.

Every time I try to open the address book I'm getting an error message that this is not a Btrieve file or was created by an earlier version of Btrieve. I haven't a clue what this means. Using Max.Enterprise version 7.0 since beginning.\ Help !!!! I'm absolutely desperate
A couple of things:

If you burned the .MAX files to a CD, this could be the cause of your problem. If the files that Maximizer is trying to operate on are read-only, the program isn't really going to be able to do much of anything. Check for this.

Again, if you burned the MAX files to a CD, you probably have a ~PVSW~.LOC file in there somewhere that might be pointing to the wrong computer. You'll want to clean up and LOC files you find that are incorrect.

If you get stuck, go to the online KB and search for the error code. Faling that, call tech support or a local business partner.
