Hi

We are moving to a new server. Are there any documented procedures for this process or any advice anyone can give?

We have a Small Business Server so are moving via Swing Migration, therefore the new server is idential to the old one so client machines should not need reconfiguration.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Bernie,

If you are moving to a new windows server that is maintaining the same name then the client PCs should be fine with connecting to the database as long as the database name hasn't been changed.

The Max Exchange system depends on which syncronisation method you are using. If you are using FTP then as long as the new server has the same IP address as the old one it should also be ok.

However we can't say for 100% that you won't experience any errors at all as Maximizer is quite sensitive about where it is installed. Should you find that the system is not working after moving it over you may need some assistance from a Maximizer Business Partner to get it worknig again.
