Hi all,

this is our first post here - so be kind Wink

We've recently been having a strange problem occurring with our MaxExchange Server and are baffled as to how to fix the problem.

Essentially when the XP machine boots up we have Outlook and MaxExchange Server in the Startup items folder (as we always have) but recently when MaxExchange Server starts up it says it can't create one of the global address book dirs. e.g., Can't create...

\\MAXIMIZER\MXDATA\SomeBook

I can see the MXDATA shared dir from other workstations on the LAN. But how do I rectify this error? When you click "OK" it shuts down the MaxExchange Server process - and so you have to be in front of the computer everytime it needs a reboot (say, for e.g., from a power failure).

Any ideas? Can someone also post what their MxzDir.Cfg file looks like from C:\MaxData and C:\MaxData\SvrShare?

Thanks very much.

Hi there,

yep, should have mentioned that we have version 7. We did recently upgrade to XP (i.e., a few months ago), however the problem has only surfaced in the last week.

I've solved the Queuing problem. There was a temp file:
C:\MaxData\SvrShare\*.flg

I shutdown MaxExchange Server and renamed its extension to flg.bak. I immediately got a message saying that a Max service will shutdown. Restarted and everything was fine for processing packets again.

So, there's only the one problem remaining:
When MaxExchange Server starts it says it can't create dir:
\\MAXIMIZER\MXDATA\AddressBookName

This is listed in:
C:\MaxData\SvrShare\MxzDir.Cfg as the location of one of the global address books and is correct. But why does it come up with this problem? When you click OK it shuts down.
