I have recently done an FTP installation of Maximizer 2000 and Max Exchange 5.5 (The latest releases). The Server is on a Windows 98 pc and the Remote is on a Windows 2000 Professional laptop. The problem is on the Remote, I can connect to the FTP server, it picks up the packet/s and tries to process. I then get an error that it "Cannot find MXZDIR.dat. Select File - New Addressbook Folde". I have created numerous new addressbooks and still get this error, uninstalled and reinstalled both Maximizer and Max Exchange, renamed the MXZDIR.dat file and recreated it.
I have checked the user profiles, I had originally logged in as the user.

I urgently need assistance as this has been going on for over a week now and I still do not have a definite soultion.

Celeste,

I had a similar prob few weeks back,
What has happened from what i could remember was that the registry settings for the remote had not been created, so check the following has been made:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Maximizer Technologies\MaxExchange\DataSynch]
"FTPServerMainPort"=dword:00000014
"CRC Enabled"=dword:00000001
"MIA"=dword:00000001
"FreeSpace"=dword:00000064
"Log"=dword:00000001
"PLog"=dword:00000001
"LogDetail"=dword:00000001
"Status"=dword:00000000

Also make sure that more than one mxdir.dat files have not been created, remove any unwanted ones.

Hopefully this should work!!!
