My question is,

When using (my work day) if you are in address book X and assign a task or appointment when you open address book Y there is no record of what you have placed in you’re my work day activates from address book X.

I call the tech line to see if it may have been some administrator privilege that required to be assigned to view my work day tasks and appointments in any address book, as I could find no mention of this at all in any documentation to the restriction.

I have been told that you can not view any of the items that you may have placed in my work day in address book X when working in address book Y, unless you copy them across from X to Y.

I asked was there a fix for this or did they know of a work around or has any one managed to do a bit of tweak to the program and the answer was NO and that’s just how it is.

Then I got a further reply, it’s a data base so you can not see what’s in another data base at the same time when you only have one open. My comment was that’s Bu…st and data bases could be viewed if programmed as such. The next answer was up grade to Maximizer enterprise 9 you can see my work day activities and appointment any time.

It baffles me that one of the most fundamental tools that is promoted in Max8 to keep your activities moving along can only be viewed in one address book with out the continued up dating to other address books manually.

I bet like myself that users need to manage many address books and I estimate I will need possibly 10 to 12 to manage the 1100 contacts already to make it a simple task to view, but if you forget to copy across your tasks in the data base you are working on or forget to go back to the one you set the activities in, it could cost you dearly.

Is there a work around for this without having to copy across all the time your work day updates to the other address book?

If this is true and you can not do this, so much for an integrated system that keeps you up to date on your daily activities as promoted by Maximizer.

I am sorry that both my posts to date have been some what scaving of the Maximizer 8 program is offering, but it appears to me that the questions needs to be asked if you boast that you’re the number one follow up contact manger, then you should not be restrict basic cross referencing of something like my work book activities.

You can transfer activities from one Address Book to another, but it's not a method I would recommend. SO I'll leave the specifics of this one to other Max users more familiar with this issue.

I would, however, ask why you need 10-12 Address Books for so few contacts? We have 8000 contacts of multiple types & geographies in a single Address Book and use UDF's to separate them out. Works fine for us. If you could get them all in a single database your problem goes away.

Just a thought - R.
