Newbie question.

I am sort of a systems analyst for a guy who uses Maximizer 6.0. His files were backed up into a dir in my documents. He asked me to toast the C drive and reinstall win98 SE. I then reinstalled Max but can't get the files into the prog. THere is a back up. How do I do this?

Use Administrator to create a new Max company. As part of the process you will be asked for the directory to use - select the one your Max data is in. It will prompt you that there is already data in that directory, so then click "OK" to use that data.

That should do it!

- If the backup consists of native Maximizer data files (*.max), simply do

File > New Address Book Folder...

and point to the folder where the data files are.

- If the backup was done within Maximizer (so the files have a .sav extension), then use

File > New Address Book Folder...

to create a new Address Book (location doesn't matter - put it where you like). Then do

File > Close Address Book Folder

followed by

Utilities > Restore Address Book Folder...

to restore the data from the backup files.
