ODBC connection to Excel

I am trying to open an ODBC connection to Excel. When I try to connect, I get a message:

Bad/missing ODBC.INI or entry in it
Driver's SQLSetConnectionAttr failed.

I have opened an Access connection to Maximizer so I know that the Maximizer ODBC driver basically works. Any advice?

I've seen that error after choosing "" from the Databases tab of the MS-Query "Choose Data Source" dialog. Try setting up your DSN first using

Control Panel > ODBC

and then use that data source with Excel.
