I'm receiving the following error when logging on as a Power User under XP and just after the addrss book begins to refresh.

[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager]Data Source name not found and no default driver specified.

Logging on as Administrator doesn't produce this error so it seems to me it's a permissions issue.

This is a new XP box, Max data stored on SBS 2003 box.

I'm thinking it might be linked to Office 2000 in some way??? Installed MSO2K as Admin and Max 7.0 also. I'm going to try installing MSO2K on another new XP box as Power User and Max 7.0 as Admin and see if that make a diff.

Just wanted to throw this out to see if anyone was familiar with this error and could help?

Thanks

Error diagnosed!

Following Maximizer's installations instructions for networking they recommend that a drive be mapped to the data source!

However, given the error I was receiving I was paying particular attention to the ODBC Data Sources - particularily the USER DSN tab. When a database is loaded Pervasive creates a temporary DSN of "tmpMAP-<DataBase Name>" which matched the entry under SYSTEM DSN. When I was connecting to the database the DSN read "tmp<ShareName> which didn't match any entry under SYSTEM DSN. Thus I concluded this was the source of the error - the mismatch.

Changing the path of the data to UCN created the entry of "tmpMAP-<DataBase Name> which matched the SYSTEM DSN entry less the tmp prefix. No more ODBC error.

I plan on checking with Maximizer on Monday regarding this as one would think mapping a drive wouldn't cause an error - just the opposite - a more reliable set-up.
