I am using Maximizer 7.0 SR2 1250. We have just updated the office package from Microsoft Office 2000 to Microsoft Office 2007.

Since then it is not possible to link a file from a network share from within Word to a name in the Maximizer address book. The error I receive is:

"OLE ITF returned an error code of 10. Failed to Create File."
In the address book where the file name should be (e.g. ExampleDoc.doc) I get a random file name (e.g. KI0012TT.doc). To me this strikes me a temporary file name.

I have reintegrated the MaxWin97.dot into the Office 12 startup directory, & have accepted the macro trust settings. The Maximizer addon shows OK and I can link documents stored locally on my hard disk to a name on the database. It is just not possible when the file exists on a network share on another computer.

It is possible for me to drag and drop the network share file from windows explorer into the Maximizer window and it links OK.

Does anyone have any tips to fully integrate Woord 2007 and Maximizer 7.0 together?

Hi there, Maximizer 7.0 & Office 2007 do not work together at all I'm afraid.

Office 2007 is a much newer technology than Maximizer 7 (which is currently 6 releases behind the current Maximizer Version). Maximizer 7 is not capable of supporting the new four letter file extensions that Office 2007 uses, if you save all your documents in Office 2000-2003 format then you may find that it works but is not guaranteed.

Additionally you should be aware that as Maximizer 7 is no longer supported no testing has been carried out with Office 2007 and you will probably find other problems when attempting to use Office/Outlook with Maximizer.

I would strongly recommend that you contact your business partner to discuss your upgrade options for Maximizer.
