Recently I exported my address book from Maximizer to Outlook. Unfortunately, ever since I've been unable to send emails either directly or even as a reply. I continue to get the emails back with the the error message, "No transport provider was available for delivery to this recipient." This despite that I know the addresses are correct. I've checked out both Maxtalk and Microsoft, but nothing I've seen has helped. Anyone got an answer?

Thanks!

Gord,

I've tried everything that Microsoft has suggested, short of deleting my address book and starting over again. I've saved it, though I think importing it back into the system will just bring back the same issues. Then again. . .

Outlook Express is working fine which tells me that the address book has some issues within it. Deleting and starting over may be my only option at this point.
. . . I'll add one more oddity. I imported the same address book over to Outlook Express and my outgoing emails using the same contacts are working just fine in Express. There, emails are going out without a return error message.

I also tried "repairing" and "updating" Outlook itself, nothing changed.

I've run into a "similar" problem with the "No Transport Provider" message, although with me it was just using Outlook stand-alone, no Max involvement.

It turned out to be an issue with the ISP. The solution was, in Outlook, to change the name of the outgoing server. Apparently the "companyname" you put in is really an alias for the ISP server's name, so they can be used interchangeably. As an example, if the problem occurs and the Outgoing Server is set = mail.yourcompany.com, you would change it to mail.ISPservname.com. And if the problem occured with the Outgoing Server set = mail.ISPserver.com you would simply change it to mail.vourcompany.com. Rebooting after making the change is sometimes, though not always, required.

I'm not a techie and even my ISP's support staff had no idea why this would fix the problem - or why the problem occurs. But it does occur at random intervals, and this does fix it.

For me, that is - hopefully this helps you as well. Of course, you'll have to get the correct settings off your ISP if you want to try it.

Good luck - R.
