Odd description but ...

Using Max 7, Outlook 2000 on a network and stand-alone. For one user ID things work fine when setting default mail formats - in Outlook I change from HTML to RTF and back, change default fonts etc., and when within Max I right-click on an Address Book Entry and select Write an Email, all the formatting of the email reflects the current settings in my Outlook client. For another user ID, no matter what I change my Outlook formatting to, every email sent from within Max defaults to Plain Text format, Times New Roman 10 point.

I'm using the same Outlook Profile, same Max database and same Address Book entry - the only variable is the Max user ID. I've checked all the settings in Max under File - Preferences and the match for both Max user ID's.

Confused

What is wrong with the 2nd user ID???

By process of elimination I found that when you turn on Autosignature for a user, the only default email format you can use is Plain Text, and it seems the only default font you can use is Times New Roman 10 point - Max ignores everything Outlook has set in its Options.

Autosignature automatically adds the defined signature text to new emails you're composing (it's under File > Preferences > Email).

What a freaking joke!!!

Anyway, I'd still like to use HTML email, so now I need to find some other way to have Autosignature work. Any ideas are welcome.

Anyone know how I can at least notify Max of this bug?
