I just set up an new 2 user peer-to-peer instalation of Maximizer. It was working fine yesterday. Today, when I try to open maximizer on the workstation (client) it gets to the splash screen and then stops, beeps at me a few times, then closes. I have verified that my network is active.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi, Erik.

If you are running version 6.0, then make sure that your machines are configured as described in the documents available via:

http: //204.174.40.40/scripts/content.asp?ref_no=001114-000079

Also, be sure to disable OrderDesk by renaming the folder...

C:\Program Files\Maximizer\Plug-ins\BPWindow

...to something else (I usually use "_BPWindow").

I've found this problem on a few machines running Maximizer 6. It seems to be related to if the address book was left open when Maximizer was shut down. I always find that editing the registery and deleting the values for DefDirName & DefDirPath solves the problem.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Maximizer Technologies\Maximizer\StartUp
DefDirName=
DefDirPath=

Maximizer should now start and you need to go to File, Open address book. If the problem persists just make sure you close the address book every time you exit Maximiser. Or create a little script that automatically does that registery edit for you.
