What version of Maximizer are you running?

Is it version 6.0?

Do you use the OrderDesk or MaxAlarm and MaxFinder? If not turn off the MaxAlarm and MaxFinder programs down by your clock at the bottom right of the screen and delete them from your Windows startup folder (Start Menu>Programs>Startup) so they don't reappear next time you reboot windows

To disable the Orderdesk, go to Windows Explorer and browse to C:\Program Files\Maximizer\Plug-ins\BPWindow and rename the folder BPWindow to something like BPWindowX, so that Maximizer doesn't recognise it.

Thanks for getting back to me so soon.

I am using version 6.0

The PC that is having the problem hasn't got MaxAlarm or MaxFinder running in the startup menue. I have changed the name of the orderdesk folder but I am no better off.

I am still getting the same error message as soon as I log in.

Any other ideas on how to fix it.

Thanks
Fred
Does the pervasive engine load? (Little computer icon appears in the sytem tray with a plus symbol, red for loading, green for go).

if not, run "C:\PVSW\BIN\W3DBSMGR.EXE -btrv" at a dos prompt or Windows RUN prompt. Then run Max. This preloads the underlying db engine.

running sp2? it's recommended if you aren't.

running Win9x? have you tried rebooting?
Yes the pervasive engine is running.

I have rebooted a few times but to no avail.

What is sp2?

Does it make a difference if this computer acts as a gateway for all other users?.

Hi Franciss,

The problem sounds like a screen drawing problem, when Maximizer starts it reads from the registry where all the windows should be placed on the screen, if these places are invalid then Max will crash...

The fact you are the gateway to the database will not make any difference to this problem.

Drop us an Email to support@cabc.co.uk and we'll send you some more detailed instructions to fix the problem.
